A Cosmic Final for the Lower Silesian Science Festival

The great scientific celebration at the Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy of the Polish Academy of Sciences has come to an end. Over four days (15–18 September), we welcomed nearly 600 visitors. The shows and workshops were the most popular, but there was also no shortage of people willing to participate in lectures. There was also a knowledge contest on antibiotic resistance – the winners received book prizes, bags, and mascots from the Giant Microbes series. The participants represented various age groups – from primary school pupils to adults.

The Wrocław edition of LSSF ended… cosmically! During the Festival’s Final Gala at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology, Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski, PhD, was a special guest who met with young people and answered many questions, including those about his stay at the International Space Station (ISS). The meeting attracted almost 650 participants to the WUST Congress Centre, mainly primary and secondary school pupils. The event was also attended by LSSF coordinators from individual units – the IIET PAS was represented by Marta Sochocka, PhD, DSc.

As many as 48 people were involved in organising the Wrocław edition of the Lower Silesian Science Festival at IIET PAS. In addition, two people represented the Institute at the Science Town on 13 September.

That’s not all – in October, a regional edition will be launched, during which our employees and doctoral students will visit many towns in Lower Silesia with 42 proposals for lectures and workshops. Ten people from the Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy of the Polish Academy of Sciences will be involved in this event.

We would like to thank all participants and those involved in organising this event.

We invite you to take part in the Lower Silesian Science Festival next year!
