Rules for employment in scientific positions

I. Promotion of a scientific employee

I. 1. promotion of an employee employed in a scientific position at IITD PAN does not require a competition.
I.2. An application for promotion of a scientific employee is reviewed by the Scientific Council and in a secret ballot adopts a resolution on the employment of a candidate for the requested position.
I.3. The resolution of the Scientific Council is forwarded to the Human Resources and Payroll Department, which coordinates the further procedure.

II. First employment of a scientific position

II.1. The first hiring of an employee for a scientific position requires an open competition in accordance with the current “Regulations for Conducting Competitions for Scientific Positions and the Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy of the Polish Academy of Sciences” in accordance with Article 91, paragraph 5 of the Act on the Polish Academy of Sciences of April 30, 2010.
II.2 The Commission shall resolve the competition by resolution.
II.3. After the competition procedure, the Commission prepares and submits a recommendation to the Director of the Institute to employ the selected person or not to employ any of the candidates.
II.4 The protocol of the Commission’s activities is forwarded to the Director, who makes the decision on employment.
II.5 The hiring decision is forwarded to the Human Resources and Payroll Department, which coordinates further procedure.
II.6. Article 91, paragraph 5 of the Act on the Polish Academy of Sciences does not apply in the case of temporary employment of a scientific employee:
1) directed to work on the basis of a contract concluded with a foreign scientific institution;
2) for the period of implementation of a project involving scientific research or development work, financed through a competition from funds for higher education and science or funds from the budget of the European Union, from non-reimbursable funds from assistance provided by member states of the European Free Trade Agreement (EFTA) or from other non-reimbursable foreign sources;
3) in the same position, if the previous employment contract was for a period of not less than three years.
In this case, the procedures contained in the project guidelines, the procedure for hiring non-scientific employees or the provisions set forth in other documents shall apply.
