Honorata Kraśkiewicz, PhD, receives prestigious Horizon Europe grant

We are delighted to announce that Honorata Kraśkiewicz, PhD, head of The Group of Biological Activity Studies of Medical Biomaterials at the Laboratory of Biology of Stem and Neoplastic Cells, has been awarded a prestigious Horizon Europe grant in the MSCA Staff Exchanges 2025 competition (HORIZON-MSCA-2025-SE-01).

The project is entitled: ‘Transforming chronic wound care with targeted MXene-based antibacterial and regenerative technologies’ and received an excellent total score of 98.80%. The aim of the project is to develop an innovative, multidimensional antibacterial and regenerative platform based on MXene nanotechnology, capable of selectively destroying pathogens, and stem cell secretome accelerating tissue regeneration in chronic wounds. The grant will enable international exchange of scientists, cooperation with industrial partners and training of young researchers, strengthening the position of IIET PAS in the field of medical biomaterials and regenerative therapies.

The project will last 48 months. The total budget is EUR 1,588,170, of which EUR 170,340 has been allocated to the IIET PAS.

The grant will be implemented as part of an international consortium:

  • Latvijas Universitate (Latvia) – coordinator,
  • IIET PAS,
  • Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań,
  • Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft (Germany),
  • Vilniaus Universitetas (Lithuania),
  • Sumy State University (Ukraine),
  • Materials Research Centre (Ukraine),
