Success of the ‘Phage Scientific Expeditions’ project in the FAST programme

We are pleased to announce that the Student Research Club at the IIET PAS has received funding under the 8th edition of the FAST 2026 Student Activity Fund programme.

The project entitled ‘Phage Scientific Expeditions’ received financial support in the amount of PLN 11,000. The project leader is Martyna Cieślik, MSc (Doctoral School of the IIET PAS), and the scientific supervisor is Michał Wójcicki, PhD, Eng (Bacteriophage Laboratory).

The project involves the organisation of popular science workshops aimed at familiarising participants with the role of bacteriophages as natural viruses that fight bacteria and their importance in the context of growing antibiotic resistance.

The Student Activity Fund is a programme of the City of Wrocław, implemented by the Wrocław Academic Centre. It is addressed to research clubs, organisations and student groups operating at Wrocław universities and institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The aim of the programme is to support academic entrepreneurship, scientific excellence and creativity among students and doctoral students.
