We are pleased to announce that the International 12TH Scientific Conference Epimilitaris 2026 CBRNE Epidemiology and Security was held in Ryn from March 16–18, 2026. The conference was held under the honorary patronage of the Minister of National Defense and the scientific patronage of the Military Institute of Aviation Medicine. The aim of the conference was to exchange and expand knowledge in the field of epidemiology and CBRNE security, in situations posing an epidemiological threat to public health in the event of natural epidemics, as well as following the use of CBRNE agents.
The Ludwik Hirszfeld Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy PAS was one of the co-organizers, and Łukasz Łaczmański, PhD, DSc, head of the Laboratory of Genomics and Bioinformatics, served on the scientific committee. The event’s program included three lectures by IITD PAN staff: Łukasz Łaczmański, PhD, DSc, delivered a lecture “The story of one pandemic, or where did SARS-CoV-2 come from?” at the inaugural session, Dr. Agnieszka Korzeniowska-Kowal, PhD, (Laboratory of Medical Microbiology) – “Shigella in times of war and in times of peace” and Katarzyna Nowis, PhD, (Laboratory of Genomics and Bioinformatics) – “Immunological surveillance of soldiers based on monitoring changes in the T lymphocyte repertoire.”
On the second day of the conference, practical demonstrations were held in the form of workshop sessions; one of them was co-led by Łukasz Łaczmański, PhD, DSc,. Marta Gancarek, M.Sc., from the Laboratory of Genomics and Bioinformatics received an award for the best poster presented at the conference.
