DESCRIPTION (topics, expectations, comments):
A candidate applying for this particular research position in the Laboratory of Clinical Immunogenetics and Pharmacogenetics should demonstrate strong motivation for scientific work, teamwork skills, independence, responsibility, and commitment to carrying out planned tasks, as well as experience in interdisciplinary research.
In particular, the candidate should:
- have a doctorate in biological sciences, medical sciences, or a related discipline;
- have at least six years of experience of working in a scientific laboratory;
- possess knowledge and experience in designing and conducting scientific research using biological material derived from humans and animals;
- have knowledge and experience in the application of molecular and cellular biology techniques, as well as practical knowledge of microscopic techniques (including holotomographic microscopy), cell culture, analysis of polymorphism and gene expression, etc.;
- have experience in writing publications and scientific reports, editing manuscripts, and performing statistical analysis of obtained results;
- demonstrate active participation in scientific life, documented by the presentation of results from their own research in at least 3 scientific papers with an Impact Factor (IF), in which the Candidate is the lead author (first / co-first / last), published within 5 years prior to submitting the application in the competition, including at least 2 original publications (the candidate’s contribution should be described in detail);
- take an active part in scientific life documented by presenting the results of their own research at national and international scientific conferences and meetings as well as by membership in scientific societies and participation in scientific projects;
- have documented experience and skills in carrying out research projects and writing grant proposals, including leading a grant or project task awarded in an external competition lasting no less than 12 months;
- demonstrate involvement in mentoring junior researchers;
- document completed research internships or work at more than one academic/research institution, including at least one international internship;
- demonstrate active participation in the popularization of science;
- be fluent in spoken and written Polish and English;
- other (e.g., specialized certificates).
Candidates are asked to submit or send:
- A copy of the diploma certifying the candidate’s professional title, academic degree, or professorship in the fields and disciplines specified in the competition;
- A cover letter;
- CV presenting the candidate’s academic profile (including professional career history, career breaks if the candidate deems it appropriate to mention them, publications with a description of the candidate’s contribution to their creation, completed internships, apprenticeships, training, workshops, participation in or management of grants, mentoring of junior researchers, supervision of doctoral students, and science outreach);
- A description of the most significant scientific achievement(s);
- A research plan;
- Other documents confirming the requirements (e.g., letters of recommendation, certificates, etc.).
