The 7th Polish Congress of Genetics takes place this coming Monday

On 21 September 2026, the 7th Polish Congress of Genetics, organised by the Polish Genetic Society and the Polish Society of Human Genetics, will begin in Wrocław.

The Congress programme covers a wide range of topics related to genetics – from human, plant and animal genetics, through the genetics of microorganisms, to bioinformatics and forensic genetics. The event will also provide an opportunity for scientists from Poland and abroad to meet, exchange experiences and present their research findings.

The Hirszfeld Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy of the Polish Academy of Sciences is a co-organiser of the Congress.

The Institute is represented on the Organising Committee by:

  • Krzysztof Pawlik, PhD, DSc, Prof. IIET PAS – Chair of the Wrocław Branch of the Polish Society of Genetics (PTG), Head of the Biotechnology Laboratory at IIET PAS
  • Łukasz Łaczmański, PhD, DSc, Prof. IIET PAS – Deputy Director for Research at the IIET PAS, Head of the Laboratory of Genomics and Bioinformatics at the IIET PAS
