Exactly 140 years ago, on August 5, 1884, Ludwik Hirszfeld, the patron of our Institute, was born in Warsaw. Last Saturday, August 3, at the parish cemetery of St Wawrzyniec at Bujwida Street in Wrocław, a meeting was held to commemorate Professor Hirszfeld and his wife Hanna. The anniversary was celebrated by Employees and PhD Students of the Hirszfeld Institute, representatives of the Regional Center for Blood Donation and Blood Treatment in Wrocław, representatives of the Institute of National Remembrance in Wrocław and the initiators of the meeting – the Rodła Family Foundation.
