Emilia Jaskuła, PhD, named Wrocław Woman of the Year 2025

During the Wrocław Woman of the Year 2025 Gala, which took place on 25 November at the Capitol Music Theatre in Wrocław, women who are truly changing the city and inspiring its residents through their work, commitment and courage were honoured. This year’s edition was a record-breaking one – the jury selected the winners from among 57 nominations, recognising their social, scientific, artistic, pro-ecological and business activities.

We are very proud to announce that in the Scientific and Research Activity category, the statuette was awarded to Emilia Jaskuła, PhD, from the Laboratory of Genetics and Epigenetics of Human Diseases IIET PAS.

For years, Dr Jaskuła has been conducting pioneering research on cell therapies, including CAR-T and TCR-T, which bring hope to patients with blood cancers. Her work not only develops access to modern therapies but also strengthens Wrocław’s position as an important centre of innovative medicine. The laureate emphasises that the success of the research is the result of the work of the entire team and the long tradition of the Institute, which laid the foundations for Polish transplantology, in particular bone marrow transplants.

‘You don’t achieve this type of recognition on your own. It’s teamwork. I would like to thank my team for their tremendous support and commitment,’ said Emilia Jaskuła, PhD, during the gala.

The Wrocław Woman of the Year award is a significant recognition of her contribution to the development of modern immunological therapies, scientific activity and inspiring young researchers.

We warmly congratulate our winner and wish her further scientific success, which, as this prestigious award shows, has a real impact on patients, science and the future of medicine in Poland.
