We are delighted to announce that The President of the Republic of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, conferred the title of professor of medical sciences and health sciences in the field of medical biology on Maria Podbielska, PhD, DSc, Eng. The title of professor is the highest academic title in Poland, awarded by the President of the Republic of Poland to individuals with outstanding scientific achievements.

Professor Maria Podbielska is employed at the Laboratory of Microbiome Immunobiology. Her scientific interests include research on lipid antigens as bioactive mediators of the intrathecal immune response in multiple sclerosis.

She is the author of 21 publications, with a Hirsch index of 16 and 683 citations (according to the Scopus database).

The ceremony of awarding the title of professor will take place on February 25, 2026, at the Presidential Palace in Warsaw.
