On 14-15 March 2026, the Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Wrocław hosted the mid-term meeting of the TopMinds mentoring programme. The event brought together mentors and mentees from across Poland who are working on developing their academic and professional careers. The meeting was co-organised by Anna Jarząb, PhD, DSc (member of the Programme’s Executive Academic Council) and Sabina Górska, PhD, DSc, from the Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
The programme included workshops on strategies for publishing research findings, promoting academic achievements and developing mentoring skills. Individual mentoring sessions and the ‘PhD Café’, which encouraged the exchange of experiences and networking among young researchers, were also key elements of the event.
TopMinds is a nationwide mentoring programme for outstanding undergraduates and PhD students, run by Fulbright Poland in collaboration with the Top 500 Innovators Association. The programme supports the development of young researchers through individual mentoring, the development of leadership and communication skills, and the building of professional networks.
