Ethics in Science
The Polish Academy of Sciences has a Committee for Ethics in Science. Its members are elected by the General Assembly of PAS from candidates nominated by the entire scientific and academic community. The Committee expresses opinions on matters concerning violations of ethical principles in science by female and male staff of universities, research units of the Academy, and research institutes (particularly in proceedings conducted by disciplinary committees).
The Commission may on its own initiative refer matters to the appropriate disciplinary committees with a recommendation to conduct an inquiry. The Commission also promotes standards of ethics and integrity in scientific research.
