The company archive of IITD PAN is an organisational unit that collects all kinds of paper documentation produced during the entire period of activity of the unit. Both archival and non-archival materials.

The basic tasks of the plant archive include:

  • cooperating with all the Institute’s units in exercising proper custody of the documentation and in the proper and timely preparation of the documentation of completed cases for transfer to the archives
  • receiving documentation from the various units
  • storing and securing the documentation taken over and keeping records of it
  • making documentation available to authorised persons
  • arranging and preserving documentation as far as possible
  • initiating the destruction of non-archival documents stored in the company archives, participating in their commission destruction
  • transferring defunct non-archival records – after prior approval of the state archive – for destruction
  • transferring archival materials to the archives of the Polish Academy of Sciences

The duties of the archivist include:

  • assisting and supporting the Institute units in the preparation of files for transfer to the archive
  • preparing a yearly summary of the files taken over, divided into categories A and B, of files made available and lent, and of files which have been discarded
  • taking care of the property and safety of all documents in the site archives
