Position Description
Technical Support
Role in the Research Team
The Research and Technical Specialist will provide high-level technical support to the research team. Primary responsibilities include:
- Maintenance and management of 2D and 3D cell cultures, utilizing both commercial cancer cell lines and primary tumor-derived lines.
- Optimizing and performing of in vitro and ex vivo functional assays designed to evaluate the anticancer activity of antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs).
- Active participation and technical assistance in the execution of in vivo experimental protocols.
- Detailed analysis of experimental data and the preparation of technical research reports.
- Formal presentation of research results during internal team and project meetings.
DUTIES OF THE POSITION (SCOPE, EXPECTATIONS, COMMENTS) AND CRITERIA FOR ASSESSING CANDIDATES TAILORED TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION
A candidate for the above post should possess the competence to conduct research assessing the efficacy of experimental anti-cancer therapies in both in vitro and in vivo conditions, and to perform functional tests in ex vivo conditions. Training enabling the performance of procedures on laboratory animals, as well as experience in this field, is required. Requirements include, amongst others, proficiency in flow cytometry techniques, in vitro cell culture, and the ability to perform statistical analysis of the results obtained.
The candidate should meet the following requirements:
- Education: Master’s degree in biology, biotechnology or a related field.
- Professional experience: At least 5 years of experience working in a research laboratory.
- Research output documented by publications, including at least two as first author.
- Knowledge of oncology, particularly experimental oncology.
- Experience in designing and conducting in vitro/ex vivo research using tumor and normal cells.
- Skills related to conducting animal experiments, as well as obtaining biological material for further ex vivo analysis.
- Proficiency in flow cytometry techniques, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISAs), including multiplex methods, the assessment of cytotoxicity using various methods, and fluorescence microscopy.
- Qualification to perform experiments using laboratory animals and to euthanise animals used in procedures, documented by training courses completed in accordance with § 2 of the Regulation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of 5 May 2015 (Journal of Laws 2015, item 628) (relevant certificates required).
- Experience in carrying out scientific research projects, including leading one’s own project.
- Active participation in academic life, in particular in conducting scientific research, securing grants, and attending national and international conferences.
- Very good command of English and Polish.
- Ability to work as part of a team, high motivation to work independently, and a sense of responsibility for assigned tasks.
TYPE OF CONTRACT, TERM AND SCOPE OF INVOLVEMENT IN THE RESEARCH PROJECT
- Contract Type: Probationary period followed by a fixed-term employment contract, full-time employment.
- Duration: The research task is planned for 42 months starting from October 1, 2026.
- Monthly Salary: 12,000 PLN (gross-gross/total employer cost).
THE REQUIREMENTS REGARDING THE NON-COMPETITION CLAUSE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE WIB PROGRAMME GUIDELINES
In accordance with paragraph 7(2) of the Agreement on the funding of the Research Team from the Polish Science Fund:
b) a prohibition on engaging in any professional activity in excess of a total monthly limit of 276 (two hundred and seventy-six) clock hours for all professional activities and a declaration confirming compliance with this condition upon each request by the Managing Authority;
c) a prohibition on engaging in any competitive activity relating, directly or indirectly, to the Research Task, in the course of which there is or may be disclosure or use of Intellectual Property, or any activity which (or the outcome of which) hinders or prevents (or, on reasonable assessment, would hinder or prevent) the effective protection or commercialisation of the Intellectual Property. Competitive activities carried out indirectly shall be deemed to include, in particular: activities carried out by an entity in which a Research Team Member is a partner, shareholder, member of the board of directors or member of other management, advisory or supervisory bodies, as well as by an entity which a Research Team Member effectively manages, despite not holding the status of a partner, shareholder, member of the board of directors or member of another management, advisory or audit/supervisory body.

TIMELINE FOR THE RECRUITMENT PROCESS, INCLUDING INFORMATION ON THE NUMBER OF STAGES
