Ludwik Hirszfeld Day celebrations

A Ludwik Hirszfeld Day celebration is planned at the Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy of the Polish Academy of Sciences on Thursday, 17 October. The celebration will be held for the eleventh time – this year, it will have a special character, as it will be combined with the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of IIET PAS. The event will begin at 10:00 in the Prof. Stefan Ślopek Auditorium.

 

Programme:

  • Inauguration of the academic year – 70th anniversary of the founding of the Hirszfeld Institute
  • Inaugural lecture entitled ‘Innovative treatment models and strategies in anticancer therapy’ will be given by Beata Orzechowska, PhD (Laboratory of Virology, IIET PAS)
  • The oath-taking ceremony for students of the Wrocław Doctoral School of Institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences
  • Presentation of PhD and post-doctoral diplomas
  • Presentation of awards by the Director of IIET PAS
  • Presentation of professional work jubilee diplomas
  • Jubilee of 50 years of professional work at IIET PAS
  • Occasional lecture entitled ‘Ethical and legal problems of genetic tests’ will be delivered by Prof. Michał Witt, PhD (Institute of Human Genetics, Polish Academy of Sciences); the panel discussion will be attended by Prof. Maria Małgorzata Sąsiadek, PhD (Wrocław Medical University), Krzysztof Tupikowski, PhD (Lower Silesian Centre for Oncology, Pulmonology and Haematology) and Łukasz Łaczmański, PhD (Head of Genomics and Bioinformatics Laboratory, IIET PAS)
