On 27 September 2024, the funding agreement for the ADEVASCO project within the Virtual Research Institute was signed at the headquarters of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The grant entitled: ‘Personalised diagnosis of vascular endothelium in cancer therapy; towards a modern vasculo-oncology’ [acronym: ADEVASCO (Aptamer-Based Diagnosis of Endothelium in Vasculooncology)] will be implemented in a consortium comprising: Jagiellonian University (leader), the Ludwik Hirszfeld Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Wrocław, the Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research of the PAS in Olsztyn, the Medical University of Gdańsk, the Maria Skłodowska-Curie National Institute of Oncology – National Research Institute in Gliwice and the Warsaw University of Technology. The leader of the research team is Prof. Stefan Chłopicki, PhD, from the Jagiellonian University. The representative of the key research team on the part of IIET PAS is Prof. Joanna Wietrzyk, PhD, Head of the Laboratory of Experimental Anticancer Therapy. The amount of funding for the project is more than PLN 78 million.
