Hirszfeld Institute recipient of four NCN Sonata 19 grants

We are pleased to announce that the ranking list of projects for funding in the NCN Sonata 19 competition includes four grants from our Institute for a total amount of PLN 7,773,214 zł. The beneficiaries are:

  1. Krzysztof Konrad Fink, PhD, from the Laboratory of Biomedical Chemistry headed by Tomasz Goszczyński, PhD – grant entitled: “Amphiphile metallocarboran-peptide as a new strategy in the fight against multidrug-resistant Gram-negative bacteria” (amount: PLN 1,382,100)
  2. Zuzanna Maria Kazmierczak, Ph.D., from the Laboratory of Molecular Biology of Bacteriophages headed by Prof. Krystyna Dabrowska, Ph.D. – grant entitled: “Evaluation of bactericidal properties of bacteriophage protein showing activity against Staphylococcus aureus, including against drug-resistant strains” (amount: PLN 2,168,550)
  3. Paulina Miernikiewicz, Ph.D., from the Laboratory of Molecular Biology of Bacteriophages headed by Prof. Krystyna Dabrowska, Ph.D. – grant entitled: “The role of a new antimicrobial agent with potential to target the bacterial community in respiratory diseases and identification of key factors shaping its antimicrobial activity” (amount: PLN 2,222,840 )
  4. Agnieszka Maria Razim, Ph.D., from the Laboratory of Immunobiology of the Microbiome headed by Sabina Gorska, Ph.D. – grant entitled: “Effect of malnutrition on the host microbiome: extracellular vesicles as bacterial messengers” (amount: PLN 1,999,724)
