Prof. Aleksandra Klimczak, Ph.D., recipient of an ABM grant

We are pleased to announce that the Institute has become a beneficiary of a grant funded by the Medical Research Agency under the National Reconstruction Plan, submitted in a competition for scientific units to carry out applied research in the biomedical area (2024/ABM/03/KPO). Head of content of the project entitled “Development of preclinical studies of WPD101a immunotoxin as a drug candidate for targeted therapy in bladder cancer”  is Prof. Aleksandra Klimczak, head of the Independent Laboratory of Stem Cell and Cancer Biology. The aim of the project is to carry out in vitro and in vivo analyses to prepare complete results for the initiation of clinical trials of the WPD101a molecule in the treatment of bladder cancer, with particular emphasis on its more aggressive muscle tissue infiltrating subtype (MIBC). The amount of funding for the project is PLN 3,916,998.00.
