Anna Jarząb, PhD, DSc, Eng., awarded for the best presentation at an international proteomics conference

We are pleased to announce that Anna Jarząb, PhD, DSc, Eng., from the Laboratory of Medical Microbiology at the IIET PAS, has been awarded the ‘Best Short Talk’ prize for her presentation of significant research findings at the SEMM Workshop ‘The Proteomics Revolution: Advancing Science and Society’, which took place in Milan, Italy, from 29 June – 1 July 2026. The award-winning presentation, “Bacterial Meltome Atlas as a Tool for Assessing the Impact of Febrile Temperatures on Bacterial Protein Denaturation”, focused on the use of the Meltome Atlas – a comprehensive database describing the thermal stability of proteins – to investigate the effect of temperatures within the range of infectious fever on the denaturation of bacterial proteins. Furthermore, the results of this research contribute to a better understanding of bacterial responses to heat stress and the mechanisms by which they adapt to changing environmental conditions.

The SEMM workshop brought together leading scientists from around the world working on the latest advances in the field of proteomics. The event’s programme covered topics related to groundbreaking proteomic technologies, biomarker discovery, the development of new therapies, structural proteomics and advanced analysis of cellular signalling pathways. Another key element of the meeting was a series of sessions dedicated to early-career researchers, designed to promote the exchange of experiences and international collaboration. We warmly congratulate Anna Jarząb, PhD, DSc, Eng. on this prestigious honour and wish her continued scientific success!
