On 10–12 September this year, the 13th Congress of the Polish Medical Diaspora, organised by the Federation of Polish Medical Organisations Abroad and the Polish Medical Diaspora Foundation, took place at the Wrocław Congress Centre. The Ludwik Hirszfeld Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy of the Polish Academy of Sciences was one of the scientific patrons of the event.
This year’s Congress was held under the theme ‘Medical innovation and the patient’s well-being’. The programme covered topics including modern technologies, artificial intelligence and personalised medicine, whilst taking into account the key role of the patient and their relationship with their doctor.
One of the speakers was Prof. Aleksandra Klimczak, Head of the Laboratory of Biology of Stem and Neoplastic Cells at the IIET PAS, who gave a lecture entitled ‘Cell therapies supporting the maintenance of biological functions of tissues and organs during the ageing process’.
The Director of the Institute, Prof. Andrzej Gamian, also took an active part in the Congress.
The event brought together Polish scientists and medical professionals from many countries around the world, providing an opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences and to establish cooperation between representatives of the Polish medical community both at home and abroad.
