Prof. Lidia Gil, MD, PhD, DSc

Prof. Lidia Gil, MD, PhD, DSc, is Head of the Department and Clinic of Haematology, Transplantation and Cell Therapy at Poznań University of Medical Sciences. As a haematologist and transplantologist, she specialises in both research and clinical practice in cell therapy for the treatment of haematological malignancies – haematopoietic cell transplantation and CAR T-cell therapy. The centre she heads was the first in Poland to be accredited to conduct CAR T-cell therapy in adult patients and is currently the largest such centre in the country. Her particular interests lie in the safety of cell therapies, especially infectious complications. She is the author or co-author of nearly 300 publications on this subject. She has been a provincial consultant in the field of haematology in the Wielkopolska Province since 2018. She serves as Chair of the Infections Section of the Polish Adult Leukaemia Group (PALG). Of the many awards she has received in her professional career, she values the Mentor of the Year Award and the Visionary Personality Award most highly.
